Smithers has more than doubled its
cold storage testing capacity over the last two years in Lansing, Michigan.
The latest chamber can accommodate up to six pallets at temperatures down to -35°C.
“We make all of our capacity and capability investment decisions based on what our clients want. With so many changes to the supply chain, we wanted to provide faster turnaround times on testing projects,” said Michael Kuebler, Technical Director,
Distribution Testing, Smithers. “Having more space for test samples that need to stay cold for preconditioning or storage purposes means we can continue to deliver accurate data, on time, with excellent service.”
The new chamber is ideal for food and medical products that require specific storage temperatures. This includes frozen foods like ice cream or packaged meals and temperature sensitive
medicines and pharmaceutical products. It can also be used to precondition products before more comprehensive distribution testing.
