Smithers Announces Chief Scientific Officer for the Cannabis Testing Services Division

(Akron, Ohio, USA) – June 15, 2023 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, recently appointed Kristofer Marsh, Ph.D. as Chief Scientific Officer of Smithers Cannabis Testing Services Division.As Chief Scientific Officer, Marsh will deliver scientific leadership, collaborating with clients and colleagues to ensure consistency of testing and the client experience throughout the Smithers network of cannabis testing laboratories. He will work closely with senior leadership to ensure that Smithers cannabis testing services are aligned with the current and future needs of clients.
Marsh joins Smithers with over six years in the cannabis testing industry and seven years working in a testing laboratory with leadership roles focused on quality management, regulatory compliance, and method development for analytical chemistry. Before joining the team at Smithers, Marsh worked at Green Scientific Labs as Chief Scientific Officer, prior Marsh was Director of Integrated Sciences.

Marsh has a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Towson University and a Ph.D. in materials chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Smithers Cannabis Testing Services Division currently has laboratory operations in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New York. Services provided at these sites include compliance testing to meet individual state requirements and a variety of state-specific specialty testing services based on clients evolving needs.
