Smithers Announces New Consultant For Rubber, Plastic, And Application Testing In Latin America

(Akron, Ohio) – November 2, 2022 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, announces the addition of Luis Felipe Juárez for the role of regional consultant, supporting clients in Latin America.Juárez will provide commercial support for all laboratories in the Smithers Materials Science and Engineering Division as part of the company’s North American consultancy team. He is a chemical engineer with over 26 years of experience working for multinational companies in the specialty chemicals and polymers industry.

Before joining the team at Smithers, Juárez held key leadership roles in sales, marketing, and product management at Lanxess, Bayer, and Globe Chemicals. He has a degree in chemical engineering from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) School of Chemistry. He has studied executive management at Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and international business management at the European Business School Paris.
Juárez will be based in Mexico City but will support clients throughout Central and South America. Each Smithers laboratory brings a range of services to clients in the region covering material chemistry and physical properties testing, component level validation, as well as a broad selection of tire, wheel, and on-vehicle testing. Working closely with the Smithers consultancy team, he will have the ability to call upon various technical experts with many years of technical experience to support clients’ toughest development challenges.
