Smithers Promotes Tudbury to Vice President Europe Medical Device Testing Division

(Shropshire, UK) – February 15, 2022 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, announces the promotion of David Tudbury to Vice President, Europe for Smithers Medical Device Testing Division.

As the Vice President, David Tudbury will provide direction and leadership to the European team and will oversee the operations of the chemical analysis and physical and functional laboratories. The chemical analysis laboratory performs extractables and leachables testing programs designed to fulfill the global regulatory requirements for container systems and materials. The physical and functional laboratory offers standard and non-standard medical device testing on a wide range of drug delivery devices, accessories, and packaging to ensure products are compliant and fit for use.

Since joining the Smithers team as the Operations Director in 2018, David has been instrumental in the development of the UK-based chemistry laboratory. Under David’s leadership, Smithers recently expanded their Shawbury facility to add capabilities and capacity necessary for continued growth in the European market.

David Tudbury has over three decades of experience in laboratory operations and management. Prior to joining Smithers, he worked at Aesica Pharmaceuticals, Catalent Pharma Solutions, and Covance Laboratories. He has a Diploma Business Administration and Management from Leeds Becket University and a Hons Degree of Chemistry from University of Derby.
