(Akron, Ohio) – October 20, 2021 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, announces the promotion of Alison Schweda to the North American Business Development Manager for Smithers Medical Device Testing Division.
Alison’s transition from Laboratory Manager to her new business development role is an exciting next step. Schweda understands the importance of delivering accurate data, on time, and now she will be instrumental in developing lasting client relationships. Alison is well equipped to provide the same engagement, enthusiasm, and expertise that clients expect from Smithers.
In her previous role, Alison Schweda honed her extractables and leachables expertise, adding to over a decade of experience in chemistry and research management in the pharmaceutical industry. She has established trusted relationships with Smithers subject matter experts, including experts in device performance testing, materials, and distribution testing.

Schweda has over ten years of experience in chemistry and research management. Prior to joining Smithers, she worked at Charles River Laboratories, Covance Laboratories, and NeoStrata. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry from Hillsdale College.
