Surrey, UK – Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, recently appointed Dave Stone as Senior Consultant, specializing in print and security. Stone will be responsible for delivering services to support clients with print quality and durability issues through to specialist testing, evaluation and certification services for secure documents, banknotes and identification cards.
Stone is an expert in secure documents and banknotes, from security features to production techniques and testing methods as well as inks and printing procedures. Based at Smithers’ Leatherhead, UK laboratories, he will lead the print and security testing team. His technical background will support the continual development of the team, and help to deliver its commitment to understanding and meeting clients’ needs with tailored support and accurate data on-time.
Stone brings with him over 30 years of experience in print security, where he has built up extensive knowledge in the design, development, production and testing of banknotes, passports, ID cards and other secure documents. More recently, Stone has spent five years working for one of the world’s largest manufacturer of inks and pigments, where he specialised in newspaper inks.
