Smithers Promotes Duncan Brown to Associate Director at Reschem, a Smithers company

(Derby, United Kingdom) - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, announced that Duncan Brown has been promoted to the role of Associate Director at ResChem, a Smithers company, in Derby, UK. 

In his new role, Brown is responsible for managing the staff and systems, while continuing as a Study Director/Principal Investigator (PI) for pesticide residue studies, ensuring that studies are conducted in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and study protocols. 

Brown has previously served as an Analytical Chemist, conducting analysis of pesticide residues in crops using various extraction, purification, and quantification techniques. He has developed expertise in operator exposure and safety studies, conducting studies in support of agrochemical registration. Throughout his career, he has gained proficiency with advanced instrumentation, such as GC/MS and LC-MS/MS, and has developed and validated analytical methods for trace-level pesticide residues.

Brown earned a BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of Plymouth, and an MSc in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Loughborough.
