Smithers Offers Multiplex Pro-Inflammatory Assay

Gaithersburg, MD) – September 12, 2023 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, announced the availability of an off-the-shelf-multiplex assay, the MSD Pro-inflammatory panel 10-plex.
This assay does not require development and qualification before use in a study. It allows sample analysis to begin more quickly, enabling Smithers to better meet clients’ most urgent or rush project deadlines. This new multiplex assay offering can be used for sample analysis from discovery through to clinical studies.
The assay provides testing for pro-inflammatory cytokines, which are biomarkers that can be detected in human serum. Cytokines are immuno-modulating biomarkers that regulate responses of cells and and can be an indicator of inflammatory processes, including infections, cancers, and other abnormalities.

Method qualification of this assay was completed in August 2023. The MSD Pro-inflammatory panel 10-plex assay is now available for utilization in clients bioanalytical studies. As all studies are different, some modifications may be required, depending on matrix and regulatory requirements.
