(Shropshire, UK) – March 15, 2022 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services announces the promotion of Michael Creese to the Operations Director of Chemistry for Smithers Medical Device Testing Division.
As the Operations Director of Chemistry, Michael Creese will support the continued growth of the chemistry analysis laboratory at the Smithers Shawbury facility in the United Kingdom.
Michael Creese joined Smithers in 2008 as an Extractables & Leachables (E&L) Consultant. Throughout the years, he has developed professionally through a number of positions and leadership roles. In 2013, he was promoted to the laboratory's Manager of Project Management, where he drove improvements in client engagement, communications, and project management.
Michael is a leading Extractables & Leachables (E&Ls) industry expert and has helped solve some of the most challenging E&Ls assessments for Single Use System suppliers and users (bags, tubing, filters, connectors etc.) and Final Container Closure Systems (pMDIs, stoppers, vials, pre-filled syringes, cartridges etc.).

Michael Creese has nearly two decades of expertise in laboratory operations and management. Prior to joining Smithers, he worked in the validation department for a Single Use System supplier and spent time with a petrochemical organization. Michael has a BSc in Chemistry from University of Warwick and is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC).
