Smithers Announces New Director of Food Contact Testing Operations

Surrey, UK – Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, recently appointed Gregory Stretton as Director of Food Contact Testing Operations. He will be responsible for growing Smithers Food Contact Testing services, supporting the needs of clients across food packaging and other consumer goods sectors.Stretton will be based at Smithers Leatherhead, UK facilities and will lead his team who specialize in ensuring confidence in materials that come into contact with food and consumer goods such as personal care products. With a background in analytical chemistry and laboratory management, Stretton will support the organization’s commitment to meeting clients’ needs with tailored support, on time delivery and accurate data with a high touch.
He brings with him over 10 years of laboratory management experience, leading R&D strategies and supporting client relationships in materials and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. Having excelled working at well-known global testing laboratories as well as in-house R&D facilities, Stretton has a deep understanding of what clients need from a valued testing partner.
