Samantha Connor

Senior Research Scientist, Environmental Risk Sciences

Samantha Connor joined Smithers in 2008. She is currently a Senior Research Scientist and has a background in environmental risk sciences, chemical engineering, and R&D. She is responsible for study direction, data compilation and interpretation for a range of Environmental Fate studies, as well as staff training and supervision.  She has expertise in soil and plant metabolism studies, degradation studies (e.g., photolysis, hydrolysis and stability) and mobility studies (adsorption-desorption and soil column leaching studies), and various analytical techniques (HPLC, TLC, radio-profiling and wet chemistry).  She has additional expertise in formulation and product development.  She received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS). In her spare time, Sam enjoys kayaking, swimming, gardening, travel, and reading.
