Smithers Relocates Illinois Cannabis Testing Laboratory and Invests in Technology

(Darien, IL) – January 31, 2024 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services is pleased to announce the relocation of its Cannabis Testing Services division laboratory in Illinois. The new state-of-the-art laboratory is located in Darien, Illinois. This move demonstrates Smithers commitment to the cannabis industry in Illinois by locating outside of Chicago and closer to clients optimizing sampling routes and fulfilling a promise to invest in space and technology.The new laboratory enables Smithers to deliver an even greater client experience by way of two critical investments:
- Expanded Capacity: The new lab is 10,000 square feet, nearly 3.5x larger than the previous location, allowing us to serve the industry’s growing demand now and in the future. The lab space promotes greater workflow efficiencies for faster turn-around-times.
- Equipment Redundancy: The Darien lab offers total equipment redundancy to limit downtime and provide on time results.
